nurturing support for birthing and postpartum families

~ Welcome ~

I am a DONA certified Birth and Postpartum Doula located near Doylestown PA.

I have been providing nurturing support to families in Bucks & Montgomery counties,

the Main Line and parts of Philadelphia as well as

Hunterdon and Mercer counties in NJ since 1999.

I compassionately support all families regardless of race, faith, age, marital status, sexuality, gender identity or immigration status.

My mission is to help a woman and her partner achieve the most gratifying birth and postpartum experience possible, encouraging a more confident and joyful beginning for their growing family.

Pregnancy, childbirth and parenthood are profound life experiences that deserve unconditional support, compassion, reverence, and respect.

I am very honored to journey with you.

What is a doula?

The word "doula" comes from the ancient Greek meaning "woman caregiver".

A Birth Doula is a trained and experienced professional who provides continuous physical, emotional, and informational support to a mother and her partner before, during,

and just after childbirth.

A Postpartum Doula provides practical and informational support as well as nurturing guidance to a family with a newborn.

Research and clinical studies* shows that when a Doula attends a birth:

  • labors tend to be shorter with fewer complications
  • there is a decreased need for pain medications
  • there are less medical interventions
  • a mother has more positive feelings about her childbirth experience

Parents who receive support from a Postpartum Doula*:

  • have greater self-confidence
  • feel more secure and cared for
  • have greater breastfeeding success
  • have fewer emotional challenges following birth
  • are more successful in adapting to their new family dynamics
